The 12,000 x 6,000 px spherical image is a render of a 3D scene created especially for this purpose.
This base in the 3D world helps with visual consistency, which can be an issue using backgrounds based on photomaterial from the net.
The high camera position allows for lovely wide angle renders with a lot of depth.
The main use is with additional foreground geometry like Easy Environments, Terradome or anything else you find suitable.
Lighting is included for all versions:
3Delight: The skysphere loads with lighting parented to it, so if you rotate the sphere the lighting follows.
Iray: Image based lighting from the HDRI.
Poser: Separate preloads for skysphere and lighting.
File formats are native .DUF for Daz Studio 3Delight and Iray, and .PP2 for Poser.
Note: This set`s texture folder holds some color-adjusted grass textures for Easy Environments Greenlands (the ones I used on the preview image).
It`s not necessary to use them, but makes for a better transition between both sets.
