Our Deep Space HDRI sets that came out three years ago provided light and backdrop for any space scene. This new set lets you construct Space itself. Though we haven't been to outer space yet, we know there are objects that shine brightly, stars, suns, galaxies, nebulas and such. To make objects shine, we developed the Phased Hyper Texture, which is not only easy to adjust. Its output can be determined by calculation as if it were a Bryce light source.
There are also objects out there that do not shine but need a light source to get illuminated: planets, moons, irregular chunks of rocks called asteroids or planetoids. For such objects visible suns are provided; suns that stay round, no matter where they are in the scene and how wide the view angle of the camera is set. If your scene needs ten suns in different colours, help yourself in the library.
Nebulas and galaxies are objects that can be rotated and tilted to create completely different shapes so there's much more than what's in the library. Because such objects need a bit of time to render, we also provide pre-rendered billboards of such objects. Not so versatile as the objects but very fast to render.
There are example scenes which are explained in videos included, each one concentrating on a different aspect: a great training resource. Some of the videos can also be viewed on David's YouTube channel: Make an additive background image for example scenes. They can give you a clearer indication of what you get with this set.
And just for fun, we show how you can create a "nebulous terrain" - a terrain made from any nebula in the library. By the way, the Deep Space HDRIs are not obsolete, should you already have them. You can still use them to complement your space scenes.
