Ancient Persian Clothing - Zoroastrian Priest

This is a Marvelous Designer Project - A clothing set for Zoroastrian priest figures that would be used in scenes of Ancient Persia.

This clothing set is scaled for the Poser L'Homme figure, and for the generic Daz male figure. (Of course it can be used for any characters in Cinema 4d, Max, Maya, Lightwave and other applications.)

Essential clothing for a Zoroastrian Priest is a white cotton sedreh (simple long-sleeved shirt), and the "kushti." A "kushti" is a 72 wool and cotton set of threads that ties around the waist in three wraps, and is knotted in the front and in the back with a double knot. Typically, the sedreh is worn over a simple set of white pants ("shalvar" for Ancient Persians), and the outfit is accompanied by a simple white cap.

In Ancient Persia, higher ranked priests wore a additional pieces that are deep purple in color. These pieces might be a kandu (sleeveless overcoat) with purple body but trimmed with white, or they might be a simple purple scarf or cloth drape worn around the neck or over the shoulders.

This Marvelous Designer product set consists of the sedreh (sleeved shirt), shalvar (hareem-type pants), a band around the waist to pull in the shirt at a position about where the kushti would go, a cap, and an optional trimmed kandu. Because the kushti double knot is unreasonably difficult to make in Marvelous Designer, it is included as a "trim object" in three different versions in this package.

If you have never used the Marvelous Designer application to make clothing for your characters, please be encouraged to try building your own clothing for your Ancient Persians.

Using this garment set, you should find that you can apply and modify this clothing successfully for your own Poser or Daz figures with about two to four hour's of learning, even if you have never before used Marvelous Designer. You can download a free 30-day trial of the Marvelous Designer application by registering on the web site for the program. Links to Marvelous Designer and a superb tutorial are shown under the Vendor Editorial tab.
