Caissons AKS-74U

Authors:
Caissons AKS-74U

This is my 3D approximation of an AKS-74U - please note that it is not an exact replica of the real weapon! It has been built for Poser 11 but see the technical notes below as conversion to other applications should be possible. In addition please note that while it is intended for use in Superfly the materials are dual-purpose and the model can be rendered in Firefly.

What's included:

Rigged figure with part variations that can be dialled from the main body
8 different material options
Made for current tech - subD surfaces, PBR rendering
Highly efficient UV mapping for great close-up detail
Bullet and magazines also supplied as separate props

Includes poses for -
Hivewire3D's Dawn - 12 full body left and right, 8 partial poses left and right, 1 hand pose
Hivewire3D's Dusk - 12 full body left and right, 8 partial poses left and right, 1 hand pose
Daz3d's Michael 4 - 6 partial poses left and right, 1 hand pose
Daz3d's Victoria 4 - 6 partial poses left and right, 1 hand pose

... plus illustrated PDF User Guide!

Technical Notes

The model is provided in OBJ format and has been built to use subdivision surfaces. There are 19,054 polygons of which 98 are triangles and the rest quads. It is set up to use 2 levels of subD when rendering in Poser by default. The mesh is grouped and has a single material zone.

The gun has been UV mapped to a single texture sheet with 84.3% coverage. The texturing uses the PBR Metal/Rough workflow, and the maps for each material are Colour, Metallic, Roughness and Normal in 4k resolution. The Normal maps are in OpenGL format and use MikkT as the tangent basis.
