Kobudo - Traditional Weapons of Okinawa

Kobudo - Traditional Weapons of Okinawa

Kobudo is a martial art from the Ryu Kyu Islands of Japan, now known as Okinawa. Until the end of WWII, the peasantry was not allowed to possess (much less train with) weapons of any kind. To defend themselves against the Samurai, the people of Okinawa fashioned weapons from common implements. Kobudo is the art that teaches how to use these implements as weapons to defend against armed bandits and even the feared Samurai Sword.
This set introduces four traditional Okinawan Kobudo weapons: Sai (Yoke Pin), Kama (Rice Sickle), Eku (Oar), Tonfa (Mill Handle). Each is correctly proportioned and shaped as the actual weapons based on authentic traditional teachings and not on the more commonly seen commercial versions.
