Cattails are found throughout the world in coastal regions, riverbanks, and marshy meadowlands, growing from 5 to 10 feet in height, in water up to 3 feet deep. Rigged Cattail Reeds brings them to your shores with fully poseable stems and leaves!
Each cattail stem has 13 bones, with 26 in each leaf blade. 16 ERC pose control dials allow you to easily create smooth bends, twists, and curves for an endless variation of poses. 9 grouping presets are included, as well as 16 pose presets to make scene setup quick and simple. In addition, 10 aniBlocks are included for easy plug-and-play animation.
One large UltraScatter 5x1 meter plot provides you with a large, but light spread to populate the water's edge, and with UltraScatter Pro you can customize the number and scatter of the instances (though it is not required to use the preset prop as provided). Or, create your own instanced fill with a handful of single stems and leaf blades. Add poses, one of 4-6 material variations (4 stems, 5 catkins, 6 leaf blades), and an aniBlock or two, and you have a field of rustling reeds waving lazily in the breeze (see animation sample below).
Rigged Cattail Reeds provides High Resolution, SubD6 Displacement Iray materials for maximum photorealistic renders. But quickly turn Displacement Off with the provided utility preset for longer shots or larger scenes where system resources would otherwise be taxed. Add a handful of HD cattails in the foreground and you're good to go.
