Although they are the most common species, the blue-furred beasts are not the only kind of beast found on the planet. Various subspecies can be found in more specific regions. And unlike the blue-furred beasts, not all of them are fervent supporters of Skelhead — some might even prove to be allies in the defense of Blackskull!
The striped beasts are fast and lethal; they predominantly live in savannas and undergrowth, solitary and elusive, hunting alone. They are rarely seen in company and do not form clans or packs like others. However, they have a perverse sense of honor — if you help one, it will be grateful to you.
The orange beasts are the smallest of the various beast species. They live mostly in trees, even building small arboreal cities. They are cunning and untrustworthy, but they love anything that sparkles — which leads them to trade with other races and species. It is said that there is no better merchant than an orange beast, if you want your precious goods swindled away from you.
Brown beasts are elusive and shy, but no less dangerous. They live in the mountains and hills, where they survive by hunting and raising small flocks of hoppests. They rarely venture down to the valleys or stray far from their caves, preferring to mate only with members of their own clan. They are generally more muscular than the blue beasts, which is why the latter often try to kidnap their females to mate and produce larger, stronger offspring.
