Notes: A distinctive palm with a single trunk to 16m. It has large, pleated, circular leaves up to 2m in diameter. The fruits are a red drupe containing a single seed. It is endemic to northeastern Queensland, Australia where it grows in swamps, along riverbanks, and in rainforests. In favourable conditions it may dominate small areas, forming a "fan palm forest".
