Nerd Glasses G8F

Nerd Glasses G8F

A model of a set of large, round eyeglasses, in a nerdy bookish style, fitted and rigged in DAZ Studio for Genesis 8/8.1 Female. While the rigged version should be suitable for most character needs, a smart prop version is also included, as well as a large assortment of mix and match partial materials to allow you to easily customize the frame and lens materials in many combinations. These materials are all independent of the model's UVmap, and can be used on any other glasses models I publish.

A morph to adjust the position of the earpieces is also included, if you find the earpiece ends don't line up exactly correctly with your character's shape. A Push modifier is also included, and can be used to change the thickness of the frame a small amount - if you wish, you could even add a Push Modifier Weight Node to selectively apply this to only parts of the model, e.g. only the lenses, or only the frame around the lenses, etc. See DAZ documentation for this if necessary.

Since the model is supposed to be a hard object, the entire structure is set to be "rigid" and will not follow any character correction or shape morphs; if your character's face shape is drastically different from the default, you may need to adjust the position or create your own morph target to address this. For the same reason, a Smoothing modifier is not included and not recommended.

To use, simply set up the scene and character(s) as you normally would; the character may be posed or even heavily morphed and scaled if desired!
- Select the target character in the scene hierarchy
- Load the glasses model from the Content Library
- Select the glasses model in the scene hierarchy
- Set materials as desired
- Render!

NB: Many of the materials make extensive use of REFLECTION, REFRACTION, and TRANSPARENCY. Depending on hardware, the preview may not show these materials accurately or at all, but they should render OK in the Iray render engine. For more accurate preview you can enable NVIDIA Iray preview mode. Note that these effects react to other elements of your scene, especially lighting, and if your scene has no objects or appropriate lighting for them to react to, you may need to adjust these surfaces or your scene contents.
