Step into a generous New York apartment from around 1910-1935 - the kind of flat behind the tall windows of a better pre-war building. NYC Tenement Large Apartment recreates it room by room: a 5.40 x 4.50 m living room with two tall street windows and a fireplace in a chimney breast, a bedroom with a built-in closet, a foyer gallery with the entry door and glazed French doors into the living room, a kitchen and a bathroom with a clawfoot tub. Oak herringbone parquet in a border, a panelled dado with chair rail, picture rail, a deep cornice, ceiling panel mouldings and plaster rosettes, tall six-panel doors, 6-over-6 windows with a city view behind them, cast-iron radiators and mosaic-tiled kitchen and bathroom floors set the period. Use it for family drama, noir, period stories, Depression-era and wartime scenes or everyday city life.
Load a complete apartment in one click - Standard, Open Kitchen (living room and kitchen as one L-shaped room) or Large Bath (a bathroom extended over the closet, with a wardrobe in the bedroom), each Furnished or Unfurnished - or build your own. Every room module and every furnishing set loads in its place in the common apartment frame, so any combination joins at the walls: Living Room, Living Room with Kitchen, Bedroom, Bedroom without Closet, Kitchen, Bathroom, Large Bathroom, Foyer and Closet, plus Double Door versions of the living rooms and bedrooms that add a pair of glazed French doors between them. A second living-room furnishing set seats six at a 1.60 m dining table.
Every room is furnished and dressed: sofa, two armchairs, coffee and end tables, two bookcases, floor and table lamps, a dining table with bentwood chairs, an iron bed, nightstands, a dresser with mirror, a wardrobe, a hall table and closet shelf and rod, a gas range, glazed cupboards, an enamel sink and an ice box, a high-tank toilet with pull chain, lavatory and medicine cabinet - and about 90 period decoration pieces such as a mantel clock and candlesticks, labelled canisters and jars, kitchenware, books, framed pictures, rugs, tall curtains, plants, hat boxes and a suitcase. All 130 pieces are also separate props.
Change the whole apartment with a double-click: two colour schemes - Cream (cream walls over a deeper cream panelled dado, dark mahogany-stained woodwork and doors, golden-oak herringbone in a walnut border, golden-oak furniture, green mohair) and Sage (sage-green walls and dado, golden-oak woodwork, light oak parquet in a mahogany border, mahogany furniture, mulberry velour, Nile-green kitchen and bathroom) - each in Clean, Used and Aged wear. The scripts find every apartment node in the scene by themselves; the same looks are included as material presets for selected items. Paper the walls above the dado with a Stripe or Trellis wallpaper in three wear levels, in every room or on selected walls only, and switch the lamps between five settings. Materials and lighting are independent.
Every door leaf has a Door Open control; cupboard doors, drawers, the ice box doors, the bread box and jewel box lids, the medicine cabinet, the dining table drawer and the wardrobe open with an Open control. Repeated pieces such as windows, radiators, switches, plates, jars and books are DAZ node instances, which keeps memory use and Iray load down.

- Iray Uber materials with base colour, roughness, normal and, where needed, metallic and cut-out opacity maps (up to 2048 px), tinted glass and liquids, translucent curtains and lampshades.
- Alpha-cut wear decals (grime, soot, water stains, floor traffic) that are invisible in the Clean look.
- Content Library icons for all 187 files, Smart Content metadata and a detailed read-me.
Dimensions and geometry
Living room 5.40 x 4.50 m, bedroom 3.65 x 4.50 m, foyer 4.40 x 2.40 m, kitchen 2.50 x 2.40 m, bathroom 2.00 x 2.40 m (Large Bathroom 2.00 x 3.15 m), built-in closet 2.10 x 0.60 m, clear height 3.10 m. A furnished layout has about 371,000 facets in DAZ Studio; instanced copies are not counted again. Texture files total about 940 MB for all colour schemes and wear levels; a scene loads only the maps of its current look.
Compatibility and notes
Tested in DAZ Studio 4.24 and DAZ Studio 6 on Windows with NVIDIA Iray, installed from the package into a registered content library. No figure, plugin or other product is required. The one-click presets are plain DAZ Script (.dsa) files and only change nodes that belong to this product, also next to NYC Tenement Small Apartment in the same scene.
Lamps are emissive surfaces and the city views behind the windows are emissive planes; the scenes add no cameras, DAZ lights or render settings, so brightness depends on your exposure and lighting. The promotional renders add presentation lights that are not included: point lights at the lamp bulbs, invisible rectangular lights inside the windows and a soft fill under each ceiling, with Iray tone mapping at EV 12.5 (burn highlights 0.25, crush blacks 0.15). The lamp-setting image keeps the window lights the same and switches the bulb lights with the lamps (All Lamps Off: window light only). The plan views hide ceilings and ceiling lamps. All scene images are renders of the supplied product in DAZ Studio 6 / Iray; the small room and prop tiles are the product's Content Library icons.
With the Double Door rooms, the Large Dining Table set places two chairs in front of the double door - move them if you open it.
Smart Content metadata is included and structurally validated. The product is available through Content Library without it.
Installation
The product comes as two ZIP files (Part 1: scenes, rooms, props, presets, scripts and the Shared, Clean, Used and Cream texture maps; Part 2: Aged and Sage texture maps) - install both. Merge their Environments, Runtime and Documentation folders into a registered DAZ content library. Find the product in Environments > AuraVix_Studio > NYC Tenement Large Apartment.
