Victorian Bathing Machines for Poser

Victorian Bathing Machines for Poser

Bathing Machines were genuinely used by Victorian ladies and gentlemen in many parts of the world including Britain, America and Europe, from the 18th to the early part of the 20th century. They were hauled out to sea either by man or horse power, usually a discrete distance from the town. The male bathing machines would be some distance from the female. Mixed bathing was illegal and referred to as 'promiscuous bathing'!
