Dining with Fishes

The rain pounded against the door, as if it was trying to shatter it. It was an eerie sound, and it made the three cats sitting in their armchairs shudder. They had lived in this old, creaky house for many years, and they were used to the sound of stormy nights.

But tonight, something was different. Johnny Cat felt a chill run up and down his spine, and he knew that something was coming. He noticed his two friends swishing their tails in agitation. Then, he heard it: three loud knocks at the door.

The felines felt uneasy, but they were also curious. They slowly made their way to the door and opened it. Standing there was a tall, gaunt figure with a hood over its head. There was something oddly familiar about this figure, but the cats couldn't place it.

The figure spoke in a deep, raspy voice. 'I've come to warn you. There is something lurking in this house, something that will take your souls if you let it. I can help you find a way to protect yourselves, but you must listen carefully.'

The felines were frightened, but determined to protect themselves. So they listened to the figure's instructions, and when it was done, it disappeared into the night.

The cats were safe, but shaken. They had been warned, and they would never forget the stranger's words. From that day forward, they would always be prepared for a stormy night.
