AtoZ Fighter AddOns for Scifi Race Speeder I v1
War came quite unexpectedly to Tyronus III.
The battles would have been short and the colonies quickly overrun except for the genius of a few engineers and some very brave test pilots. The system's Space Defense Force, as it had been called, had long ago been scrapped for parts. These were used through out the colonies for generating energy, drilling at the numerous mines and simply used as building materials.
As a matter of fact, the only thing that "flew" in the system were the Racers. The colonists built and competed against one another with high speed low level atmospheric racers. These racers were only designed to raced and gambled upon. There was never a thought that they would ever be used in space, battle or even to fly higher than mere meters above the ground.
Now that there was an immediate need all the planets' colonies quickly began to put together offensive weaponry systems, local miners offered their pulse beam drills and PAC Power Units. These were powerful miniature Particle Accelerator Colliders that actually for their size generated more energy than these Racer turned Fighters were going to need. New controls were fitted to the powerful engines and viola, these racers were air and space fighters. It took the bravest pilots to test these twitchy little beasts. Several crashed but from what was learned from those crashes and successful flights the Racer Fighters were ready for combat.
