R-9 Auxiliary Core
The colony's silent guardian.
Long before the colony expanded across the dome, engineers buried the Auxiliary Core beneath layers of reinforced shielding. Designed to operate independently from the main power grid, it stores emergency energy reserves, atmospheric backups, and critical colony data. During the Great Solar Storm of Year 12, when multiple systems failed simultaneously, the Auxiliary Core kept life support active until repairs were completed.
"When everything else goes dark, the Core remains awake."
R-9 Cargo Launch Complex
The logistical engine of expansion.
As the settlement grew, thousands of tons of equipment needed to be transported beyond the dome. The Cargo Launch Complex became the primary gateway for habitat modules, mining equipment, construction machinery, and exploration supplies. Every new colony founded in the R-9 Network received its first cargo shipment from these launch platforms.
"Every frontier begins with a delivered container."
R-9 Starlift Station
The vertical bridge to the stars.
The success of the Cargo Launch Complex created a new challenge—moving people and materials efficiently between the surface and orbit. The Starlift Station solved this problem, becoming the main transfer hub connecting planetary settlements with orbital infrastructure. Explorers, scientists, and cargo crews pass through its docks every day.
"Every journey to the stars starts with a single departure."
R-9 Void Beacon
The first light in the darkness.
Constructed far beyond the colony perimeter, the Void Beacon serves as a navigational guide for incoming spacecraft. Its powerful signal pierces deep space, helping vessels locate the colony long before it becomes visible. It also acts as an early-warning sensor array, monitoring the surrounding region for hazards and unknown contacts.
"Before travelers see the colony, they see the Beacon."
