Sculpture, Giant Metal Head, Dazinbane

Authors:
Sculpture, Giant Metal Head, Dazinbane

A free 3D model by Dazinbane and Luke Turner (AKA Luqu, Luqu Trnr, Lukon100, Volcanoface, Doubt45, Illuwuz).

The model was originally made by "Dazinbane" and submitted by them to the DeviantArt website.

I revised and elaborated on the model to adapt it for use in Daz Studio.

Dazinbane granted me permission to publish my Daz adapted version as a freebie.

SHORTCOMINGS

This 3D model ain't perfect. It's adaptation reflects my current beginner's skill level with Blender.
But it looks ok from a typical distance, I think.

The surface image map for the original metal option is a bit low res - not recommended for close-ups.

VERSIONS AND FEATURES

This download includes the model in DAZ Studio format only.

Dazinbane's original .obj format version is available here from their DeviantArt gallery.

This Daz Studio adapted model has two UV mapping options.

1. Stretch Edge Map: this UV mapping takes any image map you apply to it and stretches (or "extrudes") it across edge surfaces like the mouth. I think this looks good when using the original "metal" image map provided by Dazinbane.

2. Image Edge Map: this UV mapping takes any image map you apply to it and applies it normally across edge surfaces like the mouth. I think this looks good when using a small pattern image map such as concrete or stone.

MATERIALS

I provide just two main material presets:

1. The original metal sculpture as provided by Dazinbane.

2. An option to make the main sculpture part concrete instead of metal.
This uses one of the concrete shaders from the Daz Studio default resources as they were as of Daz Studio 4.11.

I also include two material presets that adjust the brightness of the eyes.
