Step into the stairwell of an old New York tenement. NYC Tenement Staircase recreates a pre-war walk-up from around 1890-1930: U-shaped stairs with a half-landing, cast-iron balusters under a wreathed wooden handrail, black and white hexagonal floor tiles, stone treads, an oil-painted dado with chair rail, plaster walls, double-hung windows, cast-iron radiators and milk-glass lamps. Use it for drama, crime and urban storytelling, or as the setting for everyday apartment scenes.
Load a complete building with 3, 4 or 5 storeys in one click, or stack your own height from the Ground Floor, Typical Floor and Top Floor modules. Every storey is its own group with its pivot at floor level, so moving, hiding or duplicating a floor is simple. Repeated storeys share geometry to keep the scene light.
The ground floor has a glazed double entrance door, a turned newel post, brass mailboxes, a tenant directory, an intercom panel and an electric meter board. Upper floors have three apartment doors per landing (numbered in the complete buildings), a wall-lamp-lit half-landing with a radiator under the window, and exposed heating pipes and conduit. The top floor ends with a guard rail, a plaster cornice and a glazed laylight.
Choose from four looks with a single double-click: Emerald Aged, Emerald New, Oxblood Aged and Oxblood New. The scripts find every staircase node in the scene by themselves, so no selection is needed. The Aged variants add chipped paint, grime, hand smudges, peeling plaster and water stains; the New variants are freshly painted. The same looks are also included as ordinary material presets for selected items.
Light the stairwell with five lamp settings: Warm, Dim, Bright, Cool White and Off. Materials and lighting are independent, so every combination works. Each apartment door and both entrance leaves have a Door Open control in Parameters, from closed to 95 degrees. Nothing is modelled behind the walls, so an open door leads straight into your own apartment set.

Dimensions and Geometry
Storey height 325 cm; stairwell 290 x 520 cm inside; 18 risers per storey (about 18 x 28 cm).
The 5-storey scene has 115 nodes and about 143,000 polygons.
Compatibility and Notes
Tested in DAZ Studio 4.24 and 6 on Windows with NVIDIA Iray.No figure, plugin or other product is required. The one-click presets are plain DAZ Script (.dsa) files and only change nodes that belong to this product.
Lamps are emissive surfaces, not separate DAZ lights; their visibility depends on your exposure and environment. The promotional renders use Iray tone mapping at EV 11 for interiors and the default environment dome; render settings, cameras and figures are not included. The construction cutaway shows the 5-storey scene with walls and furnishings hidden. All images are renders of the supplied product in DAZ Studio 6 / Iray.
Smart Content metadata is included and structurally validated; CMS import has not been tested. The product is available through Content Library without it.
Installation
Merge the ZIP's Environments, Runtime and Documentation folders into a registered DAZ content library. Find the product in Environments > AuraVix_Studio > NYC Tenement Staircase.
