Robot is usually electro-mechanical machine guided by a computer program or electronic circuitry. Robots can be autonomous or semi-autonomous and range from humanoids to industrial machines. Formerly it was kind o human-like automaton or synthetic being. The word 'robot' was first used to denote a fictional humanoid in a 1921 play R.U.R. by the Czech writer, Karel Čapek, although the word actually invented his brother, painter Josef, whom Karel asked for advice how to name his artifical beings from a play he was working on. It was derived from czech word "robota" for forced hard and tedious work. From the time of ancient civilization there have been many accounts of user-configurable automated devices and even automata resembling animals and humans, designed primarily as entertainment. As mechanical techniques developed through the Industrial age, there appeared more practical applications such as automated machines, remote-control and wireless remote-control. Robots have replaced humans in performing repetitive and dangerous tasks which humans prefer not to do, or are unable to do because of size limitations, or which take place in extreme environments such as outer space or the bottom of the sea. Our example is retrofuturistic mechanical machine usable as autonomous being, as a toy, robotic miliary suit or gigantic creature/vehicle suitable for large scale destruction and pure evil world dominantion.
