Cards splay across the trembling wood—the tarot’s morbid art—
Unveiling futures stained with fear that chill the mortal heart.
Beside a skull end table rests where shadows breed despair,
Its sockets hold forgotten woes dissolved into stale air.
Twin candles burn with eerie light; a triple cluster weeps,
Casting long and crooked shapes where silent terror sleeps.
In this parlor trapped by time and wreathed in mournful calls,
The veil is thin—a fatal slip—where darkness grips and falls.
