Early Concept Aircraft Carrier

Early Concept Aircraft Carrier

Soon after the appearance of successful airplanes, a French inventor described a ship with a flat deck that would serve as an ocean-going landing field for aircraft. Soon afterward ships were modified to experiment with this concept. Although several were outfitted to carry aircraft in WW I, it wasn't until the 1920s that full-length flat deck carriers appeared.

This model explores the concept but doesn't represent any one historical carrier, while drawing on the features of many built up to and into WW II.

The Carrier 3D model is a fully-rigged Poser figure, sized for Poser people.
