RAM REDUCER FOR DAZ STUDIO
------------

Keep your computer responsive while your scene renders.

During a render, Daz Studio holds many gigabytes of system RAM that it is not actively using. On a computer with 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM, this can leave very little memory for anything else. Windows starts moving data to the page file on your disk, and other programs become slow until the render is finished.

RAM Reducer gives that unused memory back to Windows while Render Accelerator Studio renders your scene. Daz Studio keeps everything it needs for the render, and the rest of your computer gets room to work again.

With RAM Reducer, you can:

- Keep Daz Studio's memory use low during the whole render
- Keep working in other programs while you render
- Keep your computer usable during heavy scenes
- Reduce how much Windows writes to the page file on your disk
- Get through long Render Queue sessions without your computer slowing down

------------
MEASURED RESULTS
------------

The numbers below were measured on a PC with 32 GB of RAM. Each pair is the same scene with the same settings, rendered once with RAM Reducer off and once with it on.

DAZ Studio 4.24:

- Average RAM used by Daz Studio while rendering: 20.9 GB without RAM Reducer, 3.7 GB with it (82% less)

DAZ Studio 6:

- Average RAM used by Daz Studio while rendering: 12.6 GB without RAM Reducer, 4.3 GB with it
- Free RAM at the busiest moment of the render: 2 MB without RAM Reducer, 6.1 GB with it
- Data moved to the page file on disk: 840 MB without RAM Reducer, 31 MB with it

Results will vary depending on your scene, your computer and your Daz Studio settings.

------------
YOUR FINAL IMAGE STAYS THE SAME
------------

RAM Reducer does not change your scene, your render settings, your textures or the quality of your final image. It does not lower the resolution and does not skip any part of the render. It only changes how much memory Daz Studio keeps for itself while the render is running.

If Daz Studio needs some of that memory again during the render, Windows gives it back automatically.

------------
NOT A GENERIC RAM CLEANER
------------

RAM Reducer is not a "memory cleaner" program that runs all the time and touches every application on your computer. It does not close programs and does not delete anything.

It works only on Daz Studio, and only while Render Accelerator Studio is rendering. When the render is finished, it stops.

------------
WORKS WITH WHAT YOU ALREADY USE
------------

- DAZ Studio 4.24 and DAZ Studio 6
- Single renders from the Current Scene panel
- Every scene in the Render Queue
- Can be used together with DLSS 5 Neural Rendering and LightMix

Turning it on takes one click: switch on RAM Reducer in the Current Scene panel, or in the Extensions card of the Render Queue. There is nothing else to set up.

------------
POWERED BY RENDER ACCELERATOR STUDIO
------------

Because RAM Reducer is an extension for Render Accelerator Studio, it runs as part of RA Studio's accelerated rendering workflow. Render your scene approximately 2-4x faster with Render Accelerator Studio, while RAM Reducer keeps Daz Studio's memory use low in the background.

------------
GOOD TO KNOW
------------

- RAM Reducer lowers the use of your computer's system RAM, not your graphics card's VRAM.
- Renders may take a few seconds longer.
- On DAZ Studio 4.24, the live preview in RA Studio's render window updates about every 15 seconds while RAM Reducer is on. This keeps the render running at full speed. Your final image is not affected.
- RAM Reducer only works during renders started from Render Accelerator Studio. Renders started with Daz Studio's own Render button are not affected.
