Go down the cellar stairs of an early-20th-century New York tenement into the building's shared laundry. NYC Tenement Laundry Room is a 3.5 x 7.2 m basement room with a 3.0 m board-formed concrete ceiling: common-bond brick walls over a painted cement dado, a concrete floor with a floor drain, a steel entrance door and a technical door to a small utility room with storage racks. Four front-loading washing machines stand on one wall with their supply valves, hoses, drains and receptacles; three stacks of gas dryers line the other wall with vent ducts and red-handled gas cocks. Water mains, a drain stack, the gas line, conduits, junction boxes, an electrical panel and a cast-iron radiator with real valves complete the services. Use it for crime and drama scenes, slice-of-life moments, horror, and late-night city stories.
Load one of seven ready scenes - Full (lived-in), Empty (the room with its doors, pipes and lamps only), Clean, Used (warm basement light), Grungy (Aged materials, dirty floor, dim light), Night Basement or Wet Floor Cinematic (wet concrete with reflections). Every scene comes with 10 cameras: Hero View, Entrance, Washing Machines, Dryers, Folding Table, Utility Sink, Corner Wide, Character Portrait, Low Angle and Top View.
Six lighting presets set everything in one click: Neutral Interior, Warm Basement, Cold Industrial, Dim, Night Basement and Wet Floor Cinematic. The room is lit only by its own lamps - three enamel pendants, a caged wall lamp over the technical door and a ceiling lamp in the utility room - and every lamp has an emissive bulb and a real light. Light-group scripts switch each lamp on or off; visibility scripts hide a wall, the ceiling, the pipes or the towels for open camera angles.
Three one-click wear scripts switch the whole room between Clean, Used and Aged, and 12 material presets change single parts: walls, floor (dry, wet or dirty), appliance colour (white, gray, aged or stainless), table top and wood. Washer and dryer doors open, drums turn, 12 sets merge into an open scene in place and 33 props load on their own - from detergent jugs and cartons with invented brands to baskets, a laundry cart and folded towels. Repeated pieces are DAZ node instances, which keeps memory use and Iray load down.

Dimensions and geometry
Laundry room 3.5 x 7.2 m between the walls, 3.0 m ceiling; utility room 3.0 x 2.2 m behind the technical door. Washers 66 cm wide, dryer stacks 79 cm wide and 1.95 m high. A ready scene has about 185 nodes (75 of them DAZ node instances) and about 185,000 facets. Texture files total about 355 MB for all looks; a scene loads only the maps of its current look.
Compatibility and notes
Tested in DAZ Studio 4.24 and DAZ Studio 6 on Windows with NVIDIA Iray, installed from the package into a registered content library (all 7 scenes, all 12 sets, all 33 props, lighting, material, light-group and visibility scripts). No figure, plugin or other product is required. The one-click presets are plain DAZ Script (.dsa) files and only change nodes that belong to this product, also next to other NYC Tenement products in the same scene.
The lighting presets change your render settings (Iray Dome and Scene without a dome image, tone-mapping exposure). The Portrait depth-of-field script focuses 2.2 m in front of the Character Portrait camera, where a figure stands - the empty room behind renders blurred until a figure is placed.
All scene images are NVIDIA Iray renders (DAZ Studio 6) of the product installed from the package, lit only by its own lighting presets - no extra lights, no postwork beyond the Iray denoiser; cameras render the store's 4:3 frame. The wear image adds 1:1 crops of the same renders; the prop and wall-visibility tiles are the product's Content Library icons (Blender Cycles renders of the same geometry and textures).
Smart Content metadata is included and structurally validated. The product is available through Content Library without it.
Installation
Merge the Environments, Runtime and Documentation folders of the ZIP into a registered DAZ content library (the ZIP has no enclosing Content folder). Find the product in Environments > AuraVix_Studio > NYC Tenement Laundry Room.
