The X-24A was an experimental aircraft built to test lifting body capabilities with the aim of developing the concept of controlled, unpowered space vehicle reentry and landing. The X-24A was carried by a B-52 to an altitude of 45,000 feet where it was released. It made twelve unpowered gliding tests in 1969 and 1970, and twenty-eight rocket-powered flights in 1970 and 71. The powered flights reached an altitude of around 70,000 feet and speeds around 1000 mph before gliding to an unpowered landing.
The X-24A Lifting Body is a poseable Poser figure, sized for Poser people. Created in Poser, it's compatible with DAZ Studio (see ReadMe for details).
